PASADO Y PRESENTE

 PASADO Y PRESENTE

PAST & PRESENT

Let’s go back in time for a moment. If you were born last century or last millennium and had the chance to play in the well-known “cuarta” (as juvenile divisions were called back then) or in superior squad, you’ll remember about what I’m about to tell.

The shirt for playing rugby would last for years. Your mom or grandma would mend it everywhere so that on Saturdays it would be intact.

When it rained, they weighted 5 more kilos. Besides, it was unusual to see players with the same color intensity in their shirts. And if the model was stripped, all strips were different.

When travelling to play out of town, usually something was wrong with the bus: if it didn’t turn on, we would push it, like in a scrum, so that it would work, or, if the engine stopped in the middle of the road, we would all stand at the side or the route and wait for hours for other bus to come get us.

Now, Iet’s come to the present and watch the shirts: all the same, the best quality in the market, clinging to the figure and light as a feather. Buses with TV, reclining seats, air conditioner, cereals, fruits, drinks providing electrolytes and carbs for a complete hydration.

Rugby was and still is AMAIZING. As grownups I suggest teaching younger generations to APPRECIATE everything they have and save them from thinking “I gave up playing because I feel I HAVE EVERYTHING but I’m FILLED WITH NOTHING”.
